Nathan John Ricker, MHA

Catholic.  Husband.  Father.  Two-time alumnus of THE Ohio State University…Go Bucks!

Nathan Ricker has earned both a Master of Health Administration (MHA) degree and Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology/Pre-Medicine from THE Ohio State University.  Nathan is immensely proud to have been selected as both the 2011 recipient of "The Ohio State MHA Program Young Alumnus Service Award” and also the 2021 recipient of "The Ohio State University Alumni Society Service Award.”  

During the 25 years of experience Mr. Ricker has gained in the healthcare industry, Nathan has had successes in areas such as financial and budgetary leadership, quality/operations, performance improvement, analytics, staff leadership, and healthcare software design/implementation.

Nathan most recently held the Manager of Revenue Cycle Analytics and Informatics position at OhioHealth for 2.5 years.  In this role he maintained an annual $4.6 billion Revenue Cycle Reporting and Analytics Department reporting structure for the Senior Executive Teams in both Revenue Cycle and Corporate Finance.  Prior to OhioHealth, Nathan was the Vice President of Revenue Intelligence at MedEvolve, where he designed and presented both monthly/quarterly scorecard meetings for 10 of MedEvolve’s physician practice clients spread around the country.  Mr. Ricker also worked at Zotec Partners for 4.5 years where he directed all patient revenue cycle management operations for three of Zotec Partners’ largest anesthesia clients, which consisted of $325 million in annual charges and $100 million in annual collections.  For 2.5 years Nathan served as the Associate Director for Ohio at Health Services Advisory Group, a leading national health care consulting, quality improvement, and utilization review organization, where he audited The State of Ohio Medicaid and Medicare Programs for the National Government CMS Program. 

The majority of Mr. Ricker’s working career in health administration revolved around employment with THE Ohio State University Medical Center (OSUMC).  During his 12 year total span at OSUMC, he held positions such as Finance and Business Operations Manager in Radiation Oncology, Resource Planning Analyst in the Ross Heart Hospital, Computer and Database Consultant for the James Cancer Hospital, and Cardiovascular Information Associate in the Cardiology and Pulmonary Departments.

However, it was Nathan's two years of experience as the President/Owner of a national sales and marketing firm, named The Bonzai Marketing Group, Inc. (in honor of his late sister), which would always keep Nathan desiring to return into business ownership.  It was at The Bonzai Marketing Group where Mr. Ricker met and hired Kenneth Whitt, Founding Co-Owner of the Radon Reaperz, LLC™.  Coupling Nathan's healthcare administration knowledge with his hospital experiences, and family's unfortunate frequent losses to cancer (including his mother), Radon Testing and Mitigation provides an excellent avenue to give back to the community in which he resides.  Nathan is passionate to help people prevent cancer caused by radon in their homes, which should be, and must be, a safe haven to raise a sound family without the fear of PREVENTABLE life changing illnesses.

Nathan and his wife Gina, an Ohio State Pharmacy School Graduate, met in Organic Chemistry 3 at THE Ohio State University and were eventually married on January 10, 2004 in Westerville, Ohio.  They have lived in the Polaris area of Columbus since 2002.  As a couple they enjoy celebrating their two daughters’ successes in their academic, athletic and music performance adventures.  In his free time Nathan is the Golf Commissioner and Varsity Head Golf Coach (both male and female teams) at St. Paul Catholic School in Westerville, Ohio….Go Rams!
